John and Fred Jaindl

The Beginning

The Jaindl family began their business practices in a small, family-owned restaurant called The Stone Tavern in the late 1920’s. In 1937 Fred Jaindl acquired a small quantity of turkeys and his empire was born.

Fred constantly sought to increase the quality of his product, working tirelessly to provide his customers with nothing short of the very best. Recognized for its superior quality, the Jaindl Grand Champion Turkey has served the First Family each Thanksgiving since the Eisenhower Administration.

While growing the farm Fred became increasingly aware of real estate in the Lehigh Valley, and it was not long before he began The Jaindl Land Company.

The Family Grows

Jaindl Farms was growing at a rapid pace when Fred Jaindl began to get involved in land development around the Lehigh Valley. His first land deal involved 16 acres along Cedar Crest Boulevard near the original site of Jaindl Farms. After some negotiations the land was sold to Murray Goodman, who later developed the site and built what is Cedar Crest Plaza today. This was a turning point for Fred: it allowed him to acquire more land over time, and Jaindl Land Company was formed.

But as Fred’s companies grew so did his family. Fred and Anne (Née Fix) married and had eight children. They taught their children the importance of honesty, integrity, and hard work in business while always emphasizing that family came first. Together they effectively passed down both their family and business ideals that all Jaindl Companies were founded upon.

Jaindl Properties, LLC

Jaindl Properties was founded on the same ideals that Fred and Anne passed down to their children and grandchildren. Mark Jaindl, President and Chief Executive Officer of Jaindl Properties, established the company with the same desire to offer customers and tenants alike the best commercial and residential space available.

As lifelong residents of the Lehigh Valley,  Jaindl Properties takes a particular pride in working to better the community – whether the redevelopment of underutilized industrial space or the complete renovation of classical buildings, like The Lehigh Valley Trust Building or The Shimer Building.
